Cool Picture on the screen as we were landing in Indonesia. We travelled over the Arctic Circle, Russia, Mongolia etc.
Alia skyping with her twin Emily! It sure has been an adjustment for these two gals. A little silly time skyping though and they are right back to their schemes!
'Almost' 1st day of school pic...It was a little crazy on the actual first day, but this picture will suffice. Yup...uniforms and all. So much for the PE clothes for Fred for a bit.
Derick's Birthday was on July 21st...followed shortly by Doreen's on the 27th...thank you so much for all the birthday wishes!
This was Derick's wrapping for Mom...
ps -- there was only a card in this box ;).
Love this picture...our little Indonesian boy...he gets quite a few stares! Not sure if its because he's so cute or a little on the loud side! He's a keeper though!
Doreen waiting at immigration at the Local Tangerang office with Daleana, a new friend for our papers to work in country. We were here with the whole family...the process was surprisingly speedy!
Nisha, Derick and Anna Masengi playing soccer at the park across the road with some other neighbours. Super cool way to connect with the neighbours. An owner across the road decided about a year ago to level some land in a 'gas line allowance territory' and build a mini soccer field.
Thank you chap!! There is usually a group of kids there every day after school.
Masengi and Breukelman kids...oh and Sam -- new friend of Derick's who was also at his birthday party!
Our secret little athlete...this kid started doing back dives, and then quickly stepped it up to back flips from a little higher! Solid work Alia!
Nisha, Maya and Anna were hilarious on Friday last week -- excited for the weekend. They stuffed their dresses into their shorts -- a little DBD! enough said. Derick was a little amused... He was laughing histerically a few minutes earlier.
The next couple of pictures below are of Silas in his class. Can you pick him out? He loves having his mom as his teacher although some times he has a difficult time determining when he needs to see mom as his teacher as well. I think this is slowely getting sorted out. Doreen is absolutely loving having Silas in her class as well. Comforting and reassuring!
The last pics are of some sites that we saw on the weekend after shopping at a store quite like a Costco. A few different selections though -- the kids were amused by the guy at the meat counter who would grab these beautiful fish out of the aquarium...put it on the table...grab his hammer...well you can figure out the rest. Anyways...here are a few pics. George...you will like the one of the mechanic shop below.
A little more of a taste of our lives. Peace!
The Breukelmans
Hi Fred and Doreen,
ReplyDeleteVery nice to see and read about your family, had a little trouble ( older people eh ) to send you a message but with Mary-Ann's help we did it.
Good to hear all is well and it's already becoming home to you.
I am doing really good and thankful God made all things well.
Take care.
Uncle Bill and Tante Alice.
p.s. a belated happy birthday, wishes you many more years of good health and happiness.
Tante Alice
Hey Nisha
ReplyDeleteWe miss you. Hope you're having a great time there. Love the uniforms (and the butt shot!). Say hi to Maya for me.
